I had a terrific time last week at the Congressional picnic at the White House. I wanted
to honor my home state by hosting the first ever luau on the White House South Lawn. I encouraged
everyone to come dressed in aloha attire. I wore my favorite grass skirt and ti leaf lei.
The food was ono (delicious) and the hula dancers were great. There were tiki torches,
palm trees, and mai tais.
I even had a dunk tank set up for the kids. They all enjoyed
throwing the baseball and watching Rahm Emmanuel and Robert Gibbs get soaked. But the longest
line of the day came when I climbed in for a turn in the wetseat. All in all, a great day.
