Consumer Stimulus Spending Program
The Recovery Act was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama on Feb. 17, 2009.
The purpose of the $787 billion Recovery package was to jump-start the economy to create and save jobs.
Unfortunately, the US economy is taking longer than expected to recover due to the fact that Americans
are just not spending enough money.
To combat this problem, the
Obama Administration has created the Consumer Stimulus Spending Program. The goal is to have Americans
start spending money again like it grows on trees.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing has created
a secure money-printing application which is available to interested citizens on an as-needed basis.
Federal law requires that all money printed through this program must be used on impulse purchases
only.
